It creates an instant place to go Monday-Friday. And a feeling of belonging and purpose. If you are missing this in your life, this is a healthy way to create it ASAP.
Is this rehab?
No. IOP programs often have some people struggling with addiction as the primary reason they enroll, but that is NOT the only reason you can enroll. Depression, anxiety, or any mental health issue can be a reason to enroll.
How much does it cost?
Depends on your insurance out of pocket max and deductible. If you have met those for the year it might be free. If not you might have to write a big check.
Do I need to take medical leave?
Depends on your job. Many remote tech workers with unlimited vacation do not. Often people are in crisis when first coming to an IOP, so time off from work is needed. But many take only a small break and return to work using the IOP as a co-working space.
