Terms of Use

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and groupicorn.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”) for the Groupicorn apps, website, and related services (“Groupicorn”). By using Groupicorn, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Groupicorn.

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf. You may not use a feature if applicable law or a treatment provider’s rules prohibit you from doing so.

2. What Groupicorn provides

Groupicorn lets you browse IOP/PHP and other treatment program information, view provider and staff profiles, save or track programs, note which programs you called and record tour plans, and submit ratings or reviews about your own experience. Some features let users create or join herds, exchange community or direct messages and photos, share optional availability or meetup status, and scan invitation QR codes. Features differ between the website and mobile apps and may change over time.

Program listings, staff details, and user reviews are informational. Groupicorn is not a treatment provider, clinical adviser, insurer, referral decision maker, or emergency service. Listings and featured placements are not clinical recommendations. We do not verify admission or insurance coverage or guarantee that listing information is complete or current. You must contact the program to confirm its services, staff, fees, availability, coverage, and suitability.

When you record a tour time, you are saving a time you say you agreed on directly with the program. Saving it in Groupicorn does not request, book, confirm, or change an appointment with the program. We are not its scheduling agent unless we expressly say otherwise for a particular feature. Do not rely on Groupicorn for emergency help or safety monitoring.

3. Accounts and herds

Some herd features use an anonymous account; reviews and tours require sign-in, and saving a tour requires an email address. You are responsible for your account activity and for securing your device and session. Do not impersonate another person or use an account you do not control.

Joining a herd connected to a treatment program is your own choice. Do not sign up, enroll, or identify someone else as a client, patient, or participant. A program herd’s name and its visible member list can reveal an association with that program; people with herd access may see your selected name, membership, and what you share. Use a pseudonym if you want to reduce identification, but do not assume a pseudonym makes you anonymous to people who know you. Share invite codes only with intended recipients.

An unlinked anonymous account may be impossible to restore after logout or device loss. You may optionally link Google or Apple for account recovery and other features. Other herd members can copy or disclose information they see, even if they agreed to these Terms.

4. Acceptable use and treatment privacy

Share your own experience and opinions. You agree not to:

• Identify another person as a current or former client, patient, herd member, or participant in a treatment or recovery program, including indirectly through details that make them recognizable.
• Describe another person’s diagnosis, treatment, fees, attendance, relapse, or anything they said in a session or private conversation.
• Post confidential session material or nonpublic program techniques you are not permitted to disclose.
• Upload photos, audio, or video taken during treatment sessions, or media showing another patient without their express permission and any other permission required by law or program rules.
• Post private medical information about staff; impersonate a patient or employee; or make knowingly false or baseless factual accusations of criminal or professional misconduct.
• Harass, threaten, stalk, defame, invade privacy, infringe rights, spam, scrape information, interfere with access controls, or otherwise use Groupicorn unlawfully.

Reviews should describe your own firsthand experience and distinguish opinions from factual claims. A patient’s agreement to these Terms does not give another user permission to disclose that patient’s information. You remain responsible for confidentiality promises and program rules that apply to you.

We may filter submissions, investigate reports, remove or restrict content, limit features, or suspend accounts. iOS provides report and block controls for supported messages and reviews; you can also report any privacy concern to [email protected] with enough detail to locate it. Our policy is to prioritize reports of another person’s treatment information and aim to restrict access or remove confirmed violations within 24 hours of receiving a sufficiently specific report. Where the facts are unclear, we may restrict access while reviewing. A report or block cannot undo a disclosure someone has already seen, copied, or shared.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of your messages, reviews, photos, profile details, and other submissions (“Your Content”). You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, and process Your Content as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide Groupicorn, moderate it, and comply with law. This license ends when the content is deleted from our systems, except for limited backup, legal, and security retention.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit Your Content. Reviews are attributed to their authors as user submissions; we may remove or restrict them, but do not adopt a reviewer’s statements as Groupicorn’s own claims. Reviews may be visible to people who are not signed in. Recipients may copy, save, or disclose what you share outside Groupicorn.

If you believe content infringes your rights or exposes your private information, contact us with enough information to locate it.

6. Privacy and device permissions

Our Privacy Policy explains what Groupicorn collects, uses, shares, and retains. Optional features may request camera, photos, location, microphone, or speech recognition access. You can decline or revoke permissions in device settings, although the related feature may not work. Tour times can be entered manually without speech recognition.

Do not use Groupicorn to secretly monitor someone or share another person’s information or location without a lawful basis and their permission.

7. Our intellectual property

Groupicorn, including its software, design, artwork, name, logos, and other content we provide, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Groupicorn on devices and browsers you control, subject to applicable app store rules.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Groupicorn or grant any right to use our names, marks, or branding. Feedback you voluntarily provide may be used by us without restriction or compensation to you.

8. Third-party services

Groupicorn uses third-party infrastructure and identity services, including Apple, Google, Cloudflare, and Supabase for some legacy features. Apple’s speech recognition service may process dictated audio. A program’s phone, website, or contact page is operated by that program or another third party. Their terms and privacy practices may apply. We are not responsible for third-party services or content except as required by law.

9. Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using Groupicorn at any time. Logging out or deleting the app does not automatically delete information already stored by the service. In the iPhone app, you can delete your account and associated service data in Settings → My Account → Delete my account. If you linked Google or Apple, Groupicorn asks you to authenticate again so it can revoke the provider token. For help, email [email protected].

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially or repeatedly violate these Terms, create risk or possible legal exposure, or if needed to protect Groupicorn, users, or others. Where practical, we will provide notice. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and general legal terms—will survive.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Groupicorn is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Groupicorn will always be accurate, secure, uninterrupted, error-free, or available.

Directory details, staff information, reviews, location and meetup status, arrival estimates, and tour records may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Confirm treatment and tour details directly with the program and make your own care decisions with qualified professionals. We do not endorse or verify users, herds, user submissions, or outside interactions. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, groupicorn.com and its affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, use, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to Groupicorn or these Terms, even if advised that such damages are possible.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising from or related to Groupicorn or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us to use Groupicorn during the 12 months before the claim or US $100. The limitations in this section apply to the maximum extent permitted by law and do not limit liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

12. General terms

Changes

We may update these Terms as Groupicorn changes. We will post the revised Terms and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when appropriate. Your continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that is not subject to another legally required forum will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. This does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections in the place where you live.

Entire agreement

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding Groupicorn. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or transfer of the service.

13. Terms for Apple users

If you obtained Groupicorn through Apple’s App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and groupicorn.com, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Groupicorn or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If Groupicorn fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund any purchase price you paid for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.

We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims relating to Groupicorn, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce this section against you. You represent that you are not in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism and are not on a United States government prohibited or restricted-party list.
